Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav released the 38th installment of the Ladli Behna Yojana from Lahar, Bhind
₹1,835 crore deposited in the accounts of over 1.25 crore women
Bhind, On Saturday, from Lahar in Bhind district, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav released the 38th installment under the state's ambitious Chief Minister Ladli Behna Yojana, transferring over ₹1,835 crore to the bank accounts of over 1.25 crore eligible women through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). On this occasion, a monthly assistance of ₹1,500 was transferred to the account of each eligible beneficiary woman. The Chief Minister said that the state government is continuously working on its commitment to empower women economically and make them self-reliant, and that the Ladli Behna Yojana has become the biggest medium to strengthen women's dignity and economic rights.
The Chief Minister Ladli Behna Yojana was launched on June 10, 2023, by then-Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. The objective of the scheme was to improve the living standards of women in the state by providing them regular financial assistance and to increase their economic participation in the family. By July 2026, the scheme had completed almost three years, and during this period, crores of women have been receiving regular monthly financial assistance. Currently, more than 1.25 crore women in the state are benefiting from this scheme. When the scheme was launched, women were given ₹1000 per month. Later, the amount was increased to ₹1250. The Dr. Mohan Yadav government increased it to ₹1500 per month from Diwali 2025. Women are continuously receiving the benefit of this increased amount, and the 38th installment released on Saturday was also transferred at the rate of ₹1500 per beneficiary. After becoming Chief Minister, Dr. Mohan Yadav had said on several occasions that the government would continue the Ladli Behna Yojana with full strength and women There will be no compromise on the interests of women. He also assured that the government will work to expand the scope and benefits of the scheme from time to time. However, the biggest debate centered on the promise to increase the monthly assistance amount to ₹3,000 per month in the future. This goal was originally set at the scheme's inception as a phased increase. Currently, eligible women are receiving only ₹1,500 per month. This means that one phase of the increase has been completed, but the ₹3,000 monthly assistance has not yet been implemented. The government has not announced a new official deadline. Therefore, women are currently receiving only ₹1,500 per month. Politically, the Ladli Behna Yojana is considered one of Madhya Pradesh's most effective public welfare schemes. This scheme, which provides direct financial assistance to millions of women in the state, has not only increased women's economic participation but has also had a significant impact on social and political levels. The government claims that it is providing financial security to women by ensuring timely payment of installments, while the beneficiary women are now looking forward to the promise that the assistance amount will be increased to ₹3000 per month in the future.
