Omkareshwar/Khandwa, India's Chief Election Commissioner, Gyanesh Kumar, currently on a two-day visit to Madhya Pradesh, visited the world-renowned Jyotirlinga shrine of Shri Mamleshwar Mahadev on Sunday accompanied by his wife, Anuradha. He performed a special *Panchamrit* ritual (worship using a mixture of five sacred offerings) for Lord Shiva, adhering to traditional rites. Temple priests conducted the *Jalabhishek* (ritual bathing with water), *Panchamrit Abhishek*, and special prayers amidst the chanting of Vedic mantras. Following the rituals, the Chief Election Commissioner participated in the *Maha-Aarti* of Baba Mamleshwar and prayed for the nation's happiness, prosperity, peace, and the strengthening of democratic values.

Special preparations had been made within the temple premises since morning to welcome the Chief Election Commissioner. The temple administration accorded him a traditional welcome. While the rituals were being performed, the movement of devotees within the temple complex continued as usual, even as police and administrative officials remained deployed to ensure security. The entire event was conducted in a peaceful and orderly manner.

Speaking to the media after the worship, the Chief Election Commissioner expressed that he and his wife felt privileged to have the opportunity to seek the blessings of Baba Mamleshwar. He shared that he had prayed to Lord Shiva for India's democracy to remain ever-strong, transparent, and rooted in public trust. He remarked that the voters constitute the true strength of the country's democratic system, and maintaining the trust of every voter is the paramount responsibility of democratic institutions.

He further added that he had prayed to Baba Mamleshwar not only for the strengthening of democracy but also for the good health, happiness, prosperity, and spiritual advancement of all voters across India. He expressed confidence that Lord Shiva's blessings would continue to be upon the nation and that India would keep progressing on the path of development and democratic values.

During his visit, the Chief Election Commissioner spent some time within the temple complex, soaking in the spiritual atmosphere. He also appreciated the temple's ancient traditions and spiritual significance. Devotees present at the site also praised the Chief Election Commissioner's simplicity and deep sense of devotion.

Extensive security arrangements were put in place for the Chief Election Commissioner's visit to Omkareshwar. Additional police forces were deployed across the temple premises, ghats, and major thoroughfares. Administrative officials continuously monitored the entire event, ensuring that the *darshan* and worship proceedings concluded in a completely peaceful manner.

Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar stated that he and his wife, Anuradha, had the privilege of offering prayers to Baba Mamleshwar. He prayed that India's democracy remains ever-strong, transparent, and deeply rooted in public trust. He also extended his best wishes for the good health and spiritual growth of voters across the country, as well as for the nation's continued progress.
