Angry crowd sets police vehicle on fire
Banka, A speeding car crushed several devotees in Bihar's Banka. Five devotees have died in the accident while about 10-11 people are injured. The condition of some of the injured is said to be critical. Therefore, the death toll may increase. Angry people set a police vehicle on fire and created a ruckus on the road. As soon as the information was received, the district's top officials reached the spot and pacified the crowd.
About 11 people injured in the accident
SDM Avinash Kumar said that after getting the information about the accident, we immediately reached the spot. About 10-11 people have been injured in the incident and they are undergoing treatment. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem. The situation is peaceful and the administration is cooperating fully. We will investigate the incident. Angry people set police vehicle on fire
Police said that five Kanwariyas were killed and many others were injured after being crushed by a vehicle in Banka district on Friday night. All the Kanwariyas were going to Jaishtgornath Mahadev temple with Ganga water from Sultanganj. Police said that the injured have been admitted to the hospital. After the incident, angry villagers also set the police vehicle on fire. On receiving the news of the accident, SDM and senior police officers along with police from nearby police stations also reached the spot and pacified the crowd.
Two devotees also died in UP
Meanwhile, two people lost their lives and 20 others were injured after a private bus returning from a religious place was hit by a bus. The bus went out of control and fell into a ravine on Balrampur Road in Dhebarua police station area of Siddharthnagar, UP on Friday night. All the victims were residents of Mahankola village of Shohratgarh tehsil.
