Shahdol. A case of beating up a youth who had gone to attend a birthday party in the jungle of Sinduri under the Kotwali police station area located in the district headquarters has come to light. Police said on Saturday that the complainant Rohit Mishra, son of late Jagdish Prasad Mishra, age 32 years, resident of Purani Basti Ward No. 28, came to the police station and lodged a complaint that he had gone to the jungle of Sinduri to celebrate his friend's birthday party, when Sanjay alias Betu Choubey, Nishant Yadav son of Ramkhelavan Yadav, Patan Yadav son of Pradeep Yadav, all residents of Purani Basti, who were present there, abused and beat him and insulted him due to mutual enmity. On which the police have registered a case against the three youths under Section 352, 115/2 of the Indian Penal Code and taken it into investigation. If we believe the experts, the miscreants of Purani Basti do not fear the police these days and they are not holding back from committing crimes.

Along with this, incidents of assault are being carried out by notorious miscreants every day. If we believe the sources, many crimes are registered against Betu Choubey, who assaulted the youth, in the local police station and he is involved in some incident or the other every day but he escapes under the protection of his masters, but if the police keep an eye on him in time and investigate all the criminal activities done by him till now, then there is a possibility that the main mastermind behind the scenes of the activities conducted in Purani Basti and the surrounding area will be in the clutches of the police. If we believe the citizens, a few petty thieves have made the life of the common citizens difficult in the area. But the local beat in-charge Mahendra Payasi's continuous exemption to criminal activities for the sake of achieving personal interests is somewhere working to oblige the criminals. Otherwise there was a time when people carrying out criminal activities had started migrating from the district.
