Building collapsed like a pack of cards in Bhattakufar, Shimla
River takes a furious form in Kullu and Mandi
Due to heavy rains in many districts of Himachal Pradesh, rivers and streams are overflowing and the entire life has been disrupted. On Monday morning, a 5-storey house collapsed like a pack of cards in Bhattakufar area of the capital Shimla. This accident happened in Mathu Colony on the road that leads to Chamyana Super Specialty Hospital. This building was in danger due to the four-lane construction work and it was evacuated long ago.
Thankfully, no one was living in the house when it collapsed. Due to this, there is no report of any casualties. According to the local people, this house was lying vacant for a long time and was in a dilapidated condition. After the accident, people from the surrounding area gathered at the spot and the administration was informed. The work of removing the debris of the building has been started. The administration has informed that such dilapidated buildings are being identified in the area so that appropriate steps can be taken in time and such incidents can be avoided in future.
Rain causes devastation in Kullu and Mandi
Along with Shimla, Kullu and Mandi have been receiving intermittent rains for the last 24 hours, due to which the rivers and streams are overflowing. In view of the Meteorological Department's heavy rain alert, the gates of both the dams, Larji and Pandoh, located in Mandi district on the Beas river have also been opened. At the same time, in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh, on the Hanogi Devi mountain, at Jogni turn, the rainy waterfalls are flowing in such a way that an accident can happen anytime. The reason for this is that stones also flow along with water in them, due to which these waterfalls are very dangerous for the people.
At the same time, due to landslides at various places in Himachal Pradesh, it has been advised not to travel on the Chandigarh-Manali four-lane and an advisory has been issued for this.
