Last night in Alot, Dr. Devendra Morya—serving as the Block Medical Officer and present at the Civil Hospital, Alot—was reportedly subjected to a brutal attack by unidentified anti-social elements.
BMO Morya sustained severe injuries to his head and face during the attack and has been admitted to the District Hospital for urgent treatment; the incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed near the scene.
This attack was carried out with the intent to intimidate a government official and obstruct him in the discharge of his duties, which constitutes a serious, non-bailable offense under the law.
● Demanded an investigation and the immediate arrest of the accused by examining CCTV footage from the scene.
● Demanded security for the victimized officer and his family.
● Demanded the arrest of the attackers and the demolition of illegal encroachments using bulldozers.
● Demanded that the arrested attackers be paraded in a procession within the Alot area.
