Anuppur, on 8 September 2024 at 12.30 pm, under the coalfield town of Bijuri in Anuppur district, on the information of an informer, some gamblers were gambling with playing cards in Ghodha Mohalla by betting on win or loss. After conducting a raid, on the said date at around 1 pm, gamblers Deepak father Ashok Rastogi age 31 years resident of ward number 11 Bijuri, Abhishek Chaturvedi father Prahlad Prasad Chaturvedi age 30 years resident of ward number 12 Bijuri, Sandeep Kumar Soni father Jagannath Prasad Soni age 35 years resident of ward number 8 Bijuri, Chandrakant Kori father Kailash Prasad Kori age 53 years resident of ward number 12 Bijuri, Ajay Rastogi father Rajesh Kumar Rastogi age 19 years resident of ward number 11 Bijuri were arrested. 11 people of Bijuri were found gambling and cash worth Rs. 7000 and 52 playing cards were recovered from their possession. A case under Gambling Act was registered against the accused and investigation was started.
