Bihar Police checked 38,500 vehicles across the state
Challan of Rs 1.15 crore collected, 9 weapons and cash recovered along with several criminals
A special contemporary campaign was conducted by Bihar Police on 23 and 24 December in all the districts of the state under the leadership of Superintendent of Police and senior police officers. During this, about 38,573 vehicles were checked. In this episode, 127 vehicles were seized and a fine of about Rs 1,15,08,100 was imposed on them. Let us tell you that the vehicles were checked on the instructions of Bihar Police Headquarters. In this checking, 996 wanted accused and 288 warrantees have also been arrested. Rs 70 lakh recovered during vehicle checking
In the same sequence, late on Monday, during the vehicle checking campaign, the police recovered cash worth more than Rs 70 lakh from a car. After finding such a huge amount of cash, Patna police informed the Income Tax Department about the incident. The seized money is said to belong to a businessman. Police is investigating the source and purpose of the money. The businessman to whom the money belongs is being questioned. Police says that the vehicle checking campaign will continue. As the new year approaches, police of all police stations have been asked to remain active. Apart from night, police will also check and investigate vehicles during the day.
Income tax team is questioning the businessman
It should be noted that the Income Tax team is questioning the businessman from whose vehicle Rs 70 lakh has been recovered. Income tax is asking for answers to questions like where did the money come from, where was it being brought from, where was it being taken and how was the money to be used. After the success of the special campaign in Patna, a note counting machine was also ordered to count the money. Let us tell you that earlier a case was registered against 134 policemen in Bihar Muzaffarpur. Actually, the allegation is that these policemen did not hand over the files related to 943 cases to the concerned officer after the transfer. Due to this, further action is not being taken in these cases.
