Big reshuffle at secretary level in Modi government
RK Singh new Defense Secretary, many more changes
Just a day after Independence Day 2024, the Narendra Modi government at the Center has made a major reshuffle at the secretary level. The central government has appointed RK Singh as the new Defense Secretary. RK Singh will take over as the new Defense Secretary on October 31 after the retirement of the current Defense Secretary of the country Armani Girdhar. At the same time, K Srinivas has been made Housing and Urban Secretary. Apart from this, Vivek Joshi has been given the charge of Personnel Secretary. Apart from these, there has been a reshuffle in the departments of many new officers.
Deepti Umashankar President's Secretary
According to the information received so far, the departments of about 20 secretaries have been changed. Punya Salil Srivastava has been given the charge of new Health and Family Welfare Secretary. At the same time, Deepti Umashankar has become the Secretary of the President. Nagaraju Maddirala has been appointed as Financial Services Secretary.
Reshuffle in Defence Ministry too
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Rajesh Kumar Singh as Special Duty Officer in the Department of Defence, Ministry of Defence. Apart from this, the Appointments Committee has approved the appointment of Sanjeev Kumar as Secretary, Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence.
Neelam Shammi Rao Secretary in Minority Commission
IAS Manoj Govil has been appointed Secretary in the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance. IAS Vandana Gurnani has been appointed Secretary (Coordination), Cabinet Secretariat. IAS Neelam Shammi Rao has been appointed Secretary in the National Minority Commission. Apart from this, IAS Deepti Gaur Mukherjee has been appointed Secretary of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
