New Delhi, Taking an important decision, the committee of DMRC and CISF officers has approved carrying two bottles of liquor to the passengers in the Delhi Metro. Passengers will be able to take only sealed liquor bottles with them. Till now, carrying a sealed bottle of liquor was allowed only on the airport line of the metro. Now the new order will be applicable on all metro lines. Along with this, DMRC has warned the passengers that appropriate action will be taken for drinking alcohol in the metro or for disrespectful behavior under the influence of alcohol.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation issued a statement saying, "As per the provisions of the Airport Express Line, two sealed bottles of liquor per person are allowed in the Delhi Metro. A committee comprising CISF and DMRC officials has reviewed the earlier order. As per the earlier order, carrying of liquor in Delhi Metro was banned except on the Airport Express Line. However, consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited inside the Metro premises. Metro commuters are requested to maintain proper etiquette while traveling. If any passenger is found misbehaving under the influence of alcohol, appropriate action will be taken under the relevant provisions of the law.
