Only one week is left for the first phase of voting in Jharkhand assembly elections. Just before the voting, Chief Minister Hemant Soren has got a big blow. The leader who played the role of proposer in the nomination of CM Hemant Soren has now left JMM and joined BJP. Let us tell you that Mandal Murmu is a descendant of Amar Shaheed Sidho-Kanhu and many other members of the family also live in Bhognadih, the assembly constituency of Hemant Soren. Mandal Murmu was given membership by BJP election in-charge and Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in a ceremony organized at the residence of BJP MP Nishikant Dubey in Deoghar. On this occasion, BJP's co-election in-charge and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma along with other senior leaders of the party were present.

Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed happiness on Mandal Murmu's arrival. He said that Mandal Murmu has not come to BJP to do any campaign or ask for votes. He is not even a politician. His joining BJP means that we have received the blessings of Sidhu-Kanhu. Sarma further said that further strategy will be decided after talking to Mandal Murmu about protecting the honor and respect of the tribals in Santhal Pargana. Himanta Biswa Sarma said that Mandal Murmu was offered to contest from Barhet assembly seat, but he refused. Mandal Murmu had said that if he has become a proposer of any candidate, then he will not contest the election, but will definitely join BJP.
