A total of 30 Naxalites were killed in two separate encounters in Bijapur and Kanker districts, while one soldier was martyred. This operation was part of a comprehensive campaign being run against Naxalism in the state, in which the security forces have achieved significant success.
Big blow in Bijapur: 26 Naxalites killed, one soldier martyred

After this, 26 Naxalites were killed in an encounter that lasted for hours, out of which 15 were female Naxalites. A jawan of the District Reserve Guard (DRG) was martyred in this operation.

Government's response, decisive turn against Naxalism
On this major action, Home Minister Amit Shah congratulated the security forces and said that this is an important step towards the Naxal-free India campaign. He reiterated that the government is firm on its resolve to eliminate Naxalism from the country by 2026.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said, "Our fight against Naxalism continues with full strength. The success achieved by the security forces in Bijapur and Kanker is a big step towards establishing peace and stability in the state."
This is the biggest action against Naxalites
Continuous operations have been going on against Naxalites in Chhattisgarh for the last few years, but this is considered to be one of the biggest operations so far. Naxalite incidents have decreased in the past years, and this operation reflects their weakening position.
500 soldiers conducted the operation for 7 hours
More than 500 soldiers took part in this operation and this operation lasted for about 7 hours. This major action of the security forces has given a severe blow to the Naxalites and this will strengthen the security situation in Naxal-affected areas.
One more step towards the end of Naxalism
Security experts believe that this action can prove to be a decisive turning point towards the end of Naxalism. In the past years, Naxalite activities have reduced due to the coordinated efforts of the government and security forces, and this campaign will help in further weakening their network.
