The marriage procession of Lord Bholenath ji was taken out with great pomp on the occasion of Mahashivratri with Akhand Ramayana Bhajan Kirtan at Vijayraghavgarh Nilkantheshwar Bhakti Dham in Katni.

On the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri, first of all in the morning, Rudrabhishek was done by constructing Shivalinga. After Madanlal Grover, Babu Grover, Rudraksh Grover, who received Harishchandra Award and director of the Rudrabhishek puja program, the devotees of Mahadev offered worship with full faith. A huge crowd gathered for the darshan of Bholenath. Mahadev's tilak was applied to all the devotees in the temple. Along with having darshan of Mahadev, the devotees took blessings of the attractive statues of Mata Durga, Ganesh and Hanumanji present in the Nilkantheshwar temple. After Rudrabhishek in the morning, Mahadev's procession took out with much fanfare and fireworks in the afternoon. In the procession of Bholenath starting from the temple courtyard, the forms of Shiva, Parvati, Ganesh, Hanuman etc. were seen in the tableaux. All the devotees participating in the wedding procession were seen dancing vigorously amidst the bands. Mahashivratri is celebrated on a grand scale in Nilkantheshwar Bhakti Dham. In which a huge crowd of devotees from Katni district and surrounding areas gathers. The tradition of celebrating Mahashivratri at Nilkantheshwar was started by Madanlal Grover about 34 years ago. Which is being continued continuously even today. Many beautiful and attractive temples in the temple were built by Madanlal Grover, Babu Grover. Prasad food is served to the devotees who come to the temple every day. Arrangements for food etc. are made to the fasting devotees.
