Saharanpur (Deoband), Bhagat Singh Verma, National President of Bharatiya Kisan Union Verma and Paschim Pradesh Mukti Morcha, while addressing thousands of farmers at Shambhu Border Punjab, said that BJP's Modi government is doing great injustice to the Annadata farmers of the country. Instead of providing remunerative prices to the country's Annadata farmers for their crops, they are using tear gas shells, water cannons, sticks and bullets on the farmers. He said that the Khattar government of Haryana's efforts to stop the country's Annadata farmers from going to Delhi by erecting spikes and barricades on the border of Haryana reminds of the British rule. The farmers of the country want to go to the capital Delhi to demand their rights, they do not want any participation in the political power. Bhagat Singh Verma described BJP's Modi government as anti-farmer and anti-poor and a government of a few capitalists of the country. He said that today the farmers of the country are forced to commit suicide due to the wrong policies of the government in independent India and the purchasing power of the farmers has become zero. Bhagat Singh Verma said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should solve all the problems of the country's Annadata farmers by listening to their conversations. In the year 2013, National President of Bharatiya Janata Party Rajnath Singh ji had come among the farmers at Jantar Mantar and said that if our government comes, we will give the price of sugarcane to the sugarcane farmers at Rs 450 per quintal and will solve all the problems of the farmers. Even after 10 years of being in power, the government has been able to raise the price of sugarcane to only Rs 370 per quintal. The cost of sugarcane is much less than Rs 525 per quintal. Bhagat Singh Verma, National President of Bharatiya Kisan Union Verma along with National Advisor Hafiz Murtaza Tyagi, National Spokesperson Dr. Ashok Malik, National Treasurer Rajendra Chaudhary, State Vice President Pandit Neeraj Kapil, State General Secretary Asim Malik, District Organization Minister Surendra Singh Advocate and dozens of farmers.
