Ravi Pradosh Vrat Story
According to mythology, a widow Brahmin woman lived in a town, earning her living by begging. One day, while returning from her almsgiving, she saw two boys on the way and brought them home. When the boys grew up, the Brahmin woman took them to the ashram of Sage Shandilya. Sage Shandilya, using his spiritual powers, learned about the boys and said, "O Goddess! These two boys are the princes of the kingdom of Vidarbha. Their father has been deprived of his throne by the attack of the King of Gandharbha."
The Brahmin woman and the princes observed the Pradosh Vrat as per the rituals. Then, one day, the eldest prince met Anshumati, and they fell in love. Anshumati's father, with the prince's consent, arranged their marriage. The two princes then attacked Gandharbha and were victorious. It should be noted that Anshumati's father had helped the princes in this battle. Both princes regained their thrones, and the poor Brahmin woman was given a special place, ending all her suffering. The reason for regaining her kingdom was the Pradosh fast, which brought her wealth and prosperity.
