Bargi Tunnel Completed
Narmada water will now irrigate the fields of Vindhya and Bundelkhand: Mohan Yadav
Satna/Katni, The approximately 12-kilometer-long tunnel of the Bargi Right Bank Canal Project in Katni district of Madhya Pradesh has been completed. Today, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, Minister of State Pratima Bagri, MP Ganesh Singh, and MP V.D. Sharma inspected the tunnel. Following the inspection, the Chief Minister described it as a historic achievement for the farmers of Vindhya and Bundelkhand in a press conference.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that today is a historic day for the farmers of Satna, Maihar, Katni, and Rewa, including the entire Bundelkhand region. Now, the water of the Narmada River will reach the farmers' fields, which will increase agricultural production manifold and give a new direction to the irrigation system of the region.
He said that the BJP government is fully dedicated to the interests of farmers. With the completion of this project, thousands of farmers will benefit from irrigation and farming will become more profitable.
The Chief Minister praised the Satna MP, saying that he made continuous efforts to ensure the tunnel construction was completed on time. The MP regularly coordinated with officials, kept the government informed of construction problems, and prioritized the necessary arrangements.
The Chief Minister stated that he had come to inspect this tunnel. At that time, he visited the site and saw the actual situation and inquired from officials about the difficulties faced during construction. Today, all problems have been resolved, and this ambitious tunnel is fully ready. I congratulate all the engineers, officials, employees, and public representatives for this.
He expressed confidence that the Bargi Canal Project will bring the nectar water of the Narmada River to the fields of Vindhya and Bundelkhand, ushering in a new chapter of agricultural development in the region and empowering farmers to achieve a new chapter of prosperity.
