Basti, Bakrid festival will be celebrated on 17th June. On this day, sacrifice will be made after offering Namaaz. District Magistrate Andhra Vamsi and Superintendent of Police Gopal Krishna Choudhary have appealed to the people to celebrate the festival in a peaceful environment with brotherhood. In the meeting of the District Peace Committee held in the Collectorate Auditorium, both the officers reminded the people of the traditions of Basti district and appealed to celebrate the festival together.
The District Magistrate appealed to the people not to sacrifice in the open. He appealed to the people not to pay attention to rumors and to provide even the smallest information to the local administration. He said that offer Namaaz at the designated place for Namaaz, do not park vehicles haphazardly around the Namaaz place and do not sacrifice banned animals. Also, bury the waste material at the designated place.
The Superintendent of Police said that there has been a healthy tradition of celebrating festivals with brotherhood in a traditional manner in Basti district. He said that information about the decisions taken in the peace committee meeting should also be made available to the local people. He has instructed the police officers to always remain alert.
