Ujjain, today is the second Monday of Sawan. Lord Mahakal's procession started from 4 pm in Ujjain. First, Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Prahlad Patel along with his wife worshipped the procession in the Sabhamandap. At the main gate of the temple, the armed police force personnel saluted (guard of honor) to Lord Shri Chandramouleshwar seated in the palanquin. After this, Lord Shri Chandramouleshwar in the form of palanquin and Shri Manmohan on the elephant have come out to know the condition of the people.

For the first time, a special police band of 350 soldiers is also included in the procession. A group of tribals from the Baiga community from Dindori is also dancing. After a stampede situation in the first procession, Collector Neeraj Singh has banned DJ in the procession this time.

Earlier, devotees started queuing up for Mahakal's darshan from 1 am on Sunday night itself. The doors of the temple were opened for Bhasma Aarti at 2.30 in the night. Baba Mahakal was divinely adorned with Ardhanarishwar form using bhang, sandalwood, dry fruits and jewellery. Despite the rain at around 9 in the morning, the enthusiasm of the devotees did not decrease. Cricketer Umesh Yadav also participated in the Bhasma Aarti. He also took blessings of Baba after having darshan.

By 2 pm, around 2.5 lakh devotees have had darshan. At the same time, more than 30 thousand devotees participated in the Bhasma Aarti.

More than 5 lakh devotees had darshan on the first Monday of Sawan, similar possibility is there today as well. The series of darshan will continue in this manner till 10.30 pm.
