Katni, due to a dispute and fight that happened two days ago regarding filling the auto with passengers, today an auto driver was stabbed repeatedly by about a dozen youths. The incident that took place near India Hotel under the Bus Stand Chowki of Kotwali police station area at around 2:30 in the afternoon, the youth who was the victim of the knife attack was brought to the Government District Hospital in critical condition where he died during treatment. It is said that about half a dozen knife wounds are present on the body of the deceased. As soon as the information of the incident was received, the Kotwali and Bus Stand Chowki in-charge reached the Government District Hospital.

According to information received from sources, 36-year-old Lucky Gupta, son of late Pramod Gupta, a resident of Paharua under Kuthla police station area, used to earn his living by driving an auto. Two days ago, the injured Lucky had a dispute with youths named Sumit Burman, Aryan Burman and Saurabh Yadav near Ahmed Nagar on 22 December regarding filling passengers in the auto. After the dispute, there was a fight due to which Lucky got injured on the head and a complaint of this incident was lodged at the bus stand police post. It is said that on Tuesday afternoon around 2:30, about a dozen youths called Lucky near India Hotel on the pretext of talking about something and started attacking him with knives. More than a dozen knives were stabbed on Lucky. The injured was brought to the Government District Hospital in a serious condition where he died after some time. Seeing the seriousness of the case, the police took the body in their custody and started further proceedings.
