Now another big demand has started, the demand of the local people is that the new district of Maihar has got its first MLA in the form of Shrikant Chaturvedi and since the last assembly elections started, Maihar district has never got a minister for many decades. By making Maihar MLA a minister, he can get ministerial status in Maihar district, for which a strong demand has started very fast. MLA has emerged as Shrikant Chaturvedi, who has defeated the sitting MLA by more than 55000 votes, while he has won by defeating Dharmesh Ghai of Congress by about 24000 votes. If seen, Shrikant Chaturvedi, who put a complete stop to the politics of falsehood, has emerged as a popular face among the people by becoming MLA from Maihar Assembly.

Minister post is necessary for big challenges

Maihar is struggling with many big problems. The biggest problem in Maihar area is the sale of illegal liquor, due to which Devi Dham along with 115 Panchayats under Maihar is not untouched. In today's environment, you may or may not find a medical shop in any village of Maihar. But liquor shops and 5 to 10 shops will be easily available in all Panchayats. Also, the other big problem is the rampant unemployment despite having three cement companies and dealing with the land mafia which has established its roots in Maihar for a long time is also a big challenge. The officers and babus sitting in the government departments for a long time are completely involved in corruption, the teachers teaching in government schools are less politicians and more are needed to deal with all these challenges and the widespread anarchy and to fix all the systems. Maihar Assembly needs a special veto like the post of minister.
