Patna, the continuous criminal incidents in the state have put the Bihar government in trouble. On this issue, while the INDI alliance has announced to take out a protest march across the state on July 20, CM Nitish Kumar held a high level review meeting on Friday regarding the law and order of the state.

In the review meeting, CM Nitish Kumar took detailed information about the measures being taken for crime control from Home Department Principal Secretary Arvind Kumar Chaudhary and DGP RS Bhatti and after that gave several instructions. He instructed not to be negligent at any level and to take the strictest steps to maintain law and order. CM said that law and order is the top priority of the government and said that any kind of negligence will not be tolerated in this regard. Police and administration should work diligently: The Chief Minister clearly told the officials that "Police and administration should work diligently to maintain law and order. Take strict action to control crime. Also, speed up the crime investigation work and complete it on time so that action can be taken against the culprits soon."

CM Nitish Kumar emphasized on strengthening the patrolling system. To make night and foot patrolling more effective, he also instructed senior officials to go to the area and do surprise inspections at night. Apart from this, he also told the need to take strict action to stop illegal mining.

CM said that "2 lakh 29 thousand 139 posts have been approved in various categories to increase the number of Bihar Police. Out of which 1 lakh 6 thousand 436 policemen are working. He also gave instructions to fill the vacant posts soon. He also instructed to keep a special eye on liquor ban.

In this high level meeting, Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Deepak Kumar, Chief Secretary Brajesh Mehrotra, DGP RS Bhatti, Chief Secretary to Chief Minister S Siddharth, Principal Secretary of Home Department Arvind Kumar Chaudhary along with all the top officials of Police Headquarters were present, while all the Divisional Commissioners, Inspector General of Police, DM, SSP and SP also joined through video conferencing.

In fact, after many criminal incidents in the state for the last few days, the entire opposition is attacking the government regarding law and order, although the ruling party is also counterattacking and reminding of Jungle Raj. On the same issue, the opposition has announced to take out a protest march in the entire state tomorrow i.e. on 20th July.
