Rewa, Anganwadi Workers and Helpers Unity Union (CITU), responding to the organization's nationwide call for various demands, including an increase in honorarium, implementation of gratuity as ordered by the Supreme Court, improvement in food quality, leave, promotion, and equal service conditions, demonstrated across the state and submitted a memorandum addressed to the Prime Minister and Chief Minister at the Collector's office. In the memorandum submitted by the organization, demands like making Anganwadi workers grade-3 and assistants grade-4 regular employees, implementing the recommendations of the labor conference and paying 41 thousand rupees to workers and 35 thousand rupees to assistants, implementing pension system on retirement, converting Anganwadi centers into nursery schools, not harassing workers in the name of Poshan Tractor Act for getting work done online, immediately paying the deduction made in the honorarium of the employees along with arrears as per the order of the High Court, abolishing labor codes, paying the rent of centers at increased rates, ending the OTP system of the beneficiary on take-home ration, not getting the work of other departments done by Anganwadi workers, giving them summer vacation, etc. were prominently raised. Speaking during the demonstration amidst a large number of Anganwadi workers present, the State General Secretary of the organization Kishori Verma said that the government of the country and the state is treating the Anganwadi workers who are continuously taking care of women and children step-motherly. Neither any increase is being made in their budget nor are they being given the benefits of minimum wages, pension and social security. Along with this, the government is also snatching away the right to form unions and unions by making policies. Despite working for years, they have not been considered employees yet nor has it been removed from the scheme and made a permanent program. She demanded from the government to immediately give them the status of employees.
