Pappalpreet sent to Dibrugarh Jail, all the companions of Khalistani leader are locked here
Pappalpreet, the head of 'Waris Punjab De' and living like a shadow with fugitive Khalistani Amritpal, was sent to Dibrugarh jail on Tuesday. Amritpal's other associates are also lodged in this jail in Assam. Pappalpreet was arrested by Amritsar Rural Police from Kathunangal area on Monday. Along with the National Security Act (NSA), seven other sections have been imposed on him.
On Tuesday morning Amritsar police reached Sri Guru Ramdas International Airport with Pappalpreet. From where he was brought to Assam in a plane. Pappalpreet told reporters outside Amritsar airport that he was arrested on Monday. Also said that he is fine.
Amritpal's right hand
Pappalpreet is considered to be the right hand of Amritpal. He had been working with Amritpal ever since he returned from Dubai in 2022.
Amritpal has been on the run since the Punjab Police's campaign on March 18. During this, Pappalpreet was present with Amritpal throughout. Last month, a picture of both of them running away from the police came in front of the media.
Was with till March 28
According to media reports, during interrogation, Pappalpreet had told that he had stayed with Amritpal from March 18 to March 28. After this he was separated. On March 28 itself, both of them kept coming and going in the hands of the police in Hoshiarpur. Pappalpreet also told how the police operation was not successful that day.
He disclosed that he had traveled to various places including Haryana, Patiala, Delhi and Pilibhit before returning to Haryana and Punjab.
Amritpal's associates are locked in Dibrugarh
Special associates of Amritpal have been kept in Dibrugarh Jail in Assam after their arrest. On 10 April, a delegation of the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) met members of the jailed Waris Punjab De. Till now 8 people including Amritpal's uncle were lodged in Dibrugarh Jail. Pappalpreet is the 9th member of Waris Punjab De to come to jail.
