Saharanpur. All preparations for the 13-day Kanwar Yatra, which will take place from July 30th to August 11th, have been completed. The district police and administration, along with social and religious organizations, are working to finalize the arrangements for welcome camps at various locations along the route, both on the way to Haridwar to collect Ganga water and on the way back. Devotees of Lord Shiva will be provided with sattvik food, clean drinking water, medical facilities, a smooth journey without any obstacles and with excellent electricity.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has been very positive and supportive of this important Kanwar Yatra for the followers of Hinduism since becoming Chief Minister in 2017. This is a major issue for him. In keeping with his sentiments, all departments of the government and administration are working tirelessly to ensure the success of this Yatra. On the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, State Chief Secretary Shashi Prakash Goyal and Director General of Police Rajiv Krishna Mittal have reviewed the arrangements from Haridwar to Meerut. The Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand governments are fully alert. In Saharanpur district, the Health Department is setting up fully equipped health camps for Kanwariyas at 15 locations from Gagalheri to Shahjahanpur. These camps will provide a wide range of medicines, including injections for snake and dog bites, and district hospital wards will be reserved with beds. Forty-five doctors have been deployed in these camps. According to SSP Abhinandan Singh, the route change plan will be implemented in two phases. The first phase will be from midnight of July 29th to August 4th, and the second phase will be from August 5th to midnight of August 11th. During this period, separate arrangements will be made for heavy, medium, and light vehicles. General traffic will be restricted on the main Kanwar route.
Three routes have been designated for the Kanwar Yatra in Saharanpur district. The first route will begin at the Kali River Bridge, passing through Saharanpur city and extending to the Yamuna Nagar border via Sarsawa in Shahjahanpur. This route is 55 kilometers long. The second route will go to Yamuna Nagar via Barkala, Chhutmalpur, Muzaffarabad, Behat Hathnikund, and is 60 kilometers long. The third route will go via Deoband, Bargaon, Nanota, Gangoh, and Karnal and Shamli. Separate arrangements have been made for vehicles carrying fruits, vegetables, and food items. Rajesh Kumar, Chief Engineer of the Electricity Department, stated that the Electricity Department has covered all electric poles along the Kanwar Yatra route with plastic and repaired hanging wires. All transformers along the route have been barricaded and reflectors have been installed on the electric poles. According to Rajesh Kumar, uninterrupted power supply will be maintained for the convenience of the pilgrims, and any transformer that fails will be replaced within three hours. The department has a sufficient number of transformers and necessary electrical equipment available. Transformers are being loaded onto vehicles. He stated that the Electricity Department is working on a war footing to provide whatever facilities are being directed. Commissioner Dr. Rupesh Kumar and District Magistrate Arvind Kumar Chauhan are reviewing all preparations and conducting on-site inspections. People are filled with tremendous enthusiasm, excitement, and passion for the Kanwar Yatra. As in previous years, this year too, flower showers will be showered on the Kanwariyas from helicopters.
