Action taken against gamblers in Katni

Katni, Katni police station in-charge Ranganath Nagar has taken major action to crack down on gamblers. All police station in-charges were ordered by Superintendent of Police Abhijeet Abhijeet Ranjan to curb criminal activities in the area as well as to maintain peace, which was done at midnight by the police station Ranganath Nagar team under the able leadership of police station in-charge Ranganath Nagar sub-inspector Naveen Namdev. The gamblers who were having a gambling party in the forest of the Ordnance Factory were caught and a large amount of cash and other goods were seized.
Ranganath Nagar police station in-charge Naveen Namdev said that on receiving information that some persons were gambling on the grounds behind Paryavaran Mosque under Ranganath Nagar police station, the Ranganath Nagar police station staff conducted a raid on the spot, Satendra Yadav, resident of Sahu Mohalla. Mangalnagar, 2- Sekhu Ansari resident of Gandhinagar OFK, 3- Anurag Chauve resident of Kuthla Basti near Government School, 4- Rohit Choudhary resident of Environment Colony OFK, 5- Shubh Jaiswal resident of Shivajinagar police station Kuthla, 6- Neeraj Khatik resident of Civil Line Jowar Gali police station. Another person, Shakti Pratap Singh, who was caught after laying siege to Katni Kotwali district, absconded from there. A case was registered against the above persons under the Public Gambling Act and was taken up for investigation and a total of Rs 6800 in cash, three motorcycles and four mobile phones were recovered from the above persons. The price is around Rs 2 lakh. Which is being confiscated and action is being taken.
