Jehanabad, Being absent from duty during Chhath Puja proved costly for the policemen. SP Arvind Pratap Singh has sought explanation from about 50 policemen posted at various places in the district and has stopped their salary. Further action will be taken if a satisfactory answer is not received.

All the policemen missing from duty have been directed to report to the Police Center Jehanabad with an explanation. Those missing from duty include police sub-inspectors to constables.

Four policemen including woman police sub-inspector Beauty Kumari, assistant sub-inspector posted at Paras Vigha police station were missing from duty during Chhath Puja.

Action taken against these policemen

Six policemen including Assistant Sub Inspector Siddhnath Kumar of Umta Dharnai police station, three police personnel including two Assistant Sub Inspectors Sanjay Kumar and Prabhag Kumari of Hulasganj police station, two police personnel including Saif Bal of Kalpa police station, two police sub inspectors Ravindra Kumar Singh, Omprakash Prasad of Bhelawar OP, Sub Inspector Parshuram of Vishunganj police station, two from Sikaria police station, five from Pali police station, Assistant Inspector Meera Kumar Rai of Tehta police station.

These policemen were also missing from duty

Apart from these, two police personnel including Assistant Sub Inspector Hulas Baitha posted in Scheduled Caste Tribe police station, one from Ghosi, four from Okri OP and Assistant Sub Inspector Ramnath Paswan of Shakurabad police station were found missing from duty.

At the same time, 12 policemen including a woman constable posted in the police center were also found absent from duty on the day of Chhath Puja.

Women police personnel will not face any problem, construction of barracks started in 10 police stations

On the other hand, in Ara, initiatives have been accelerated towards providing better facilities to women police personnel to stay in the police station itself. Construction work of women barracks has started in about 10 police stations of Bhojpur district. Barracks are being constructed in view of the increasing number of women police personnel in the state police force.

It should be noted that on September 5, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar laid the foundation stone of about 12 schemes related to the Police Building Construction Corporation during his visit to Bhojpur. About 15 crore 66 lakh 57 thousand rupees will be spent on these schemes. This includes the construction of two police station buildings and women barracks in ten police stations.

About a dozen police stations will be benefited from this scheme. 20-seater women barracks will be constructed in ten police stations including Town, Mufassil, Nawada, Koilwar, Badhara, Jagdishpur, Piro, Azimabad, Udwantnagar and Shahpur at a cost of Rs 59 lakh each.

The work of removing debris and digging has started in Mufassil and Town with the help of JCB. There will be provision of bathroom, toilet and kitchen etc. in the women barracks. There will also be a provision of single and double beds for those women police personnel who want to stay with their children.

They will be able to do both duty and take care of children simultaneously. The barracks are being constructed through Bihar Police Building Construction Corporation. At present, due to the absence of women barracks in the police stations, the women police personnel working there have to face a lot of difficulties.

Khawaspur and Babura police stations will also be constructed.
Khawaspur police station building and outhouse will be constructed at a cost of Rs 5 crore 64 lakh, Babura police station building and outhouse will be constructed at a cost of Rs 5 crore 11 lakh.
