The deceased was identified as Zahid, son of Mustafa, resident of Mansoor Mohalla, Phulwari Sharif, Patna. After his death in the encounter, a team of Uttar Pradesh Police reached Phulwari Sharif police station on Tuesday midnight and went to Mustafa's house with the help of Phulwari Sharif police station.

From where the police took Zahid's younger brother Pintu with them to Gamhar police station. Zahid's father Mustafa and mother Sajida Khatoon said that their son had nothing to do with crime and no criminal case was registered against him in any police station.

He was seen in Phulwari Sharif till Sunday evening, after that there was no trace of him and suddenly the news came that he died in a police encounter.

The family members say that no criminal case was registered against him in any police station. While the police say that a reward of Rs 1 lakh was announced on him.
