Raipur, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad held strong protests across the country today against the cowardly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. In the same sequence, ABVP Raipur North expressed anger by lighting torches at Saddu Chowk in Raipur.
This protest was held on the call of ABVP National General Secretary Dr. Virendra Singh Solanki, in which hundreds of students, ABVP workers and common citizens gathered at Saddu Chowk at 7:30 pm under the leadership of Sankalp Rajkamal, Co-Minister of Raipur North.
In this hour of grief and anger, Raipur North Division Co-minister Sankalp Rajkamal addressed the gathering and said that
"There is no place for terrorism on the land of India. Those who attack our soldiers should not make the mistake of considering the tolerance of this country as its weakness. The Vidhyarthi Parishad stands with the nation on every front. Today's protest is a warning to the terrorists and their masters. He called upon the government to take the strictest action and completely eradicate the roots of terrorism.
He said that this is not just a protest, it is a resolution - for the protection of the nation, for its identity, and against every terrorist thinking that wants to divide India.
This torch that rose from the land of Raipur is not limited to Saddu Chowk only, it is a warning to all those forces that repeatedly test the tolerance of India. Today's effigy burning is a symbol of that flame that is burning inside every student, every citizen - that now we will not remain silent.
Now the anti-national mentality will be stopped not only with words, Rather, the answer will be found through consciousness and action.
Metropolitan Co-minister Sujal Gupta said –
"Today, when the country is in crisis, the Vidyarthi Parishad stands with the government. We demand that the government should root out the terrorists and teach them such a lesson that in future no one can dare to look at India with raised eyes."
Finally, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad pays tribute to the innocent civilians and soldiers who were killed in the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, and expresses deep condolences to their families. We also pray for the speedy recovery of the injured people. The ABVP also expresses deep condolences to the family of Dinesh Mirania, a businessman from Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
This trumpet call of the Vidyarthi Parishad is an indication that the youth of India will no longer be limited to books only – they will become the sentinels of the dignity of the nation on the border, on the road and in the voices of the Parliament.
Because as long as even a single Indian is alive, we will not let any harm come to India.
