Katni, A tragic accident took place in Katni city's garbage plant on Saturday. While collecting garbage, a woman and a child died on the spot after getting crushed under a heavy iron slab.

The deceased have been identified as Geeta Vanskar and her grandson Yuvraj Vanskar. According to the area's councilor Vinod Yadav, due to a strong storm, a heavy iron slab suddenly overturned near the garbage heap, due to which the woman and child got crushed and died on the spot. As soon as the information of the incident was received, Madhavnagar police station reached the spot and took control of the situation. The bodies have been sent to the hospital for post-mortem. After the accident, there was chaos in the area and a crowd of people gathered. The police have started investigating the matter and are trying to find out the reasons for the accident.
