Saharanpur | Deoband, for the past few days, there have been talks about the presence of a leopard in the area. Today, a Nilgai was found dead in village Manki. This has created panic among the villagers. The villagers believe that the cow died due to a leopard attack. Forest department officials have sent the dead Nilgai for postmortem. Manki village head Mamur Hasan said that a leopard has been seen in the village forest for the past few days. Two cubs are also said to be with it. The leopard has now started attacking animals in the forest. A seriously injured Nilgai entered the village today. It died after some time. Forest officials were informed and called to the spot. In the initial investigation, it is suspected that the death was due to a leopard attack. Ranger Dharmendra says that it is true that it is a leopard. There are reports of leopards from different parts of the entire tehsil. But there is not enough staff to reach every place. Every possible effort is being made to catch the leopard. The carcass of the Nilgai is being sent for postmortem. After the report comes, it will be clear whether the Nilgai died due to leopard attack or not.
