Saharanpur, A peace committee meeting was held with police and administrative officials, elite citizens of different communities in the new auditorium of the Collectorate under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Dr. Dinesh Chandra regarding peace and law and order and other necessary arrangements on the upcoming Muharram and Kanwad Yatra. In the meeting, suggestions were taken from the committee members regarding problems and their solutions. District Magistrate Dr. Dinesh Chandra said that all the magistrates and police officers posted on duty will discharge their responsibilities well. Every officer employee must have the numbers of the camp organizers. All officers and employees should do their duty on priority, any kind of negligence will not be forgiven. Along with the cleanliness of the temples in the district, special attention should be paid to the street lighting system. The electricity department should take care that if the electric wires on the routes going for offering water are dilapidated, then they should be replaced or it should be ensured that no untoward incident occurs. Along with this, ensure barricading of the transformers coming in the way. Along with this, plastic taping should be done firmly on the electric poles. DM Dr Dinesh Chandra said that take help from Lekhpal and Secretary at village level. Maintain communication with the enlightened people of sensitive areas so that any kind of untoward incident can be avoided during the Yatra. Along with this, keep checking the ongoing preparations by inspecting your areas. He instructed all the officers to ensure completion of all the necessary arrangements while working in mission mode so that Kanwad Yatra can be completed peacefully and safely. All the concerned departments should not unnecessarily trouble the organizers in giving permission for setting up camps. He appealed to all the camp organizers and said that plastic items should not be used in the camps. Steel or paper utensils should be used for eating and drinking utensils. He said that if any camp organizer needs utensils, he can inform. All the officials of Kanwad Sangh unanimously supported the plastic free Kanwad Yatra of District Magistrate Dr Dinesh Chandra. District Magistrate Dr. Dinesh Chandra directed that arrangements of generators in vehicles in case of emergency for uninterrupted power supply in camps on Kanwad routes, cutting of bushes and pruning of trees near Kanwad routes, availability of life saving medicines, arrangement of ambulances, making the roads pothole free, installing reflectors on road dividers, installing indicators at deep places on canals, arranging separate mobile toilets for men and women, and pasting rate lists on shops should be ensured. DM Dr. Dinesh Chandra said that the festival should be celebrated with rituals while maintaining communal harmony. This area has always been an example of mutual brotherhood and Ganga-Jamuni culture. All religions give the message of peace. If there is any problem or dispute anywhere, then inform the district administration. The problem will be resolved in time. Do not do anything that hurts each other's religious sentiments. Tazia should be taken out on traditional routes only. The height of the Tazia should be as per the standard. Do not unnecessarily introduce any new tradition. Do not do anything that hurts the sentiments of any community. District Magistrate Dr. Dinesh Chandra directed the executive officers of Municipal Corporation, Municipal Council, Nagar Panchayats to ensure cleanliness and the officials of the Electricity Department to ensure uninterrupted power supply. There should not be any obstruction during the procession, the Electricity Department should fix the wires according to the height of the tazias. Also, the arrangement of street lighting should also be ensured. DM Dr. Dinesh Chandra directed the Municipal Commissioner to inspect the procession routes and ensure that there are no potholes and waterlogging anywhere. All the concerned officers should remain in constant touch with the members of the committee. The Sub-Divisional Magistrate and Police Officer of the concerned areas should hold a meeting with the members of the committee and ensure the resolution of problems along with necessary arrangements.
Senior Superintendent of Police Dr. Vipin Tada said that the organizers should keep in mind that the festivals should be celebrated in such a way that no one else faces inconvenience. He told all the officials of the Kanwad Sangh that they must take permission before doing any work so that the district administration can help you in time. Along with this, he talked about installing CCTV cameras in the camps for security purposes so that the security system can be foolproof. He instructed the senior police officers to visit the concerned areas before the festivals and take stock of the preparations and complete the shortcomings in time.
