Katni, Katni, saw panic in the village of Jajpur, which falls under the Barhi forest range, when a leopard cub entered the Mahalaxmi Saffron Plant premises. The incident, which occurred on Friday afternoon, created panic among the plant employees. The Forest Department was immediately informed, following which a rescue operation was launched and the cub was safely rescued. The little cub was not feeling well, and was referred to Mukundpur, Rewa for treatment. District Forest Officer Garbhit Gangwar stated that his staff received information that a leopard cub had entered the office of the Mahalaxmi Crusher Plant. Upon receiving the information, the Forest Department team safely rescued the cub. The cub is approximately two months old. After the safe rescue, the team was now engaged in efforts to reunite it with its mother. When she was not found, the little cub was examined and found to be ill. The cub was referred to Mukundpur, Rewa for better treatment. However, upon arrival, the doctor's team examined the cub and declared it dead. The cub is being brought back to Katni and after the post-mortem, it will be cremated as per the rules.
