Saharanpur. There is tremendous attraction and tug of war among the BJP members of the district for the post of Saharanpur Metropolitan President and District President. Due to BJP being in power in Uttar Pradesh and the Center, the main workers are trying every trick to take these two important posts. A spokesperson of the party said that 74 people have filed nominations for the post of BJP District President. The State BJP Committee will consider them. The District President is likely to be announced by January 20. Prominent among the contenders for the post of district president are the current president Mahendra Saini, former district president Vijendra Kashyap, Gajraj Rana, Virendra Pundir, Thakur Ajit Singh Rana, Yashwant Rana, Sahab Singh Pundir, Ompal Panchal, Virendra Chaudhary, Vipin Bhartiya, Pradeep Tyagi, Rakesh Ganguly, Mangeram Saini, Neha Rana, Sushil Panwar, Vijendra Monga, Yashpal Singh, Bhupendra Chaudhary, Nitin Gupta, Sandeep Sharma, Dr. Rajiv Chaudhary, etc. While the 40 prominent BJP leaders who have filed nominations for the post of metropolitan president include former BJP MP Raghav Lakhanpal Sharma's younger brother Rahul Sharma, women leader Kusum Agarwal, former BJP president Hemant Arora, Amit Garg, Neeraj Gupta, Sheetal Bishnoi, International Vaishya Federation district president Sunil Gupta, Neeraj Maheshwari, Kishore Sharma, Kanchan Dhawan, Vikram Sharma, etc.
