In 1993, a 7-year-old boy was kidnapped from Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh when he was returning home from school with his sister. Immediately after the kidnapping, the family received a ransom call, but after that it was never known where the little boy disappeared. Now, 30 years later, the same boy has reunited with his family. This is the story of Bhim Singh. Bhim was forced to do bonded labour in a remote village in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.

What is the whole case

Bhim Singh (Raju), who lived in Sahibabad, was kidnapped on September 8, 1993. Although a police report was filed at that time, but even after a search that went on for some time, there was no trace of Bhim. The matter calmed down and the police as well as the family forgot Bhim.

According to Sahibabad ACP Rajnish Upadhyay, a Delhi-based businessman freed Bhim from bonded labour. He asked Bhim for details about him. However, Bhim had little knowledge of his address. The businessman made some notes based on the details given by Bhim. Last Saturday, November 23, Bhim came to Khoda police station in the afternoon with a letter written in blue ink.

Bhim told the police that he was from somewhere in Noida. He also said that he has parents and four sisters and he is the only son. He mentioned the name of Tularam and some other names and also told in which year he was kidnapped. Based on this information, when the police searched old files, they found an FIR of kidnapping registered in Sahibabad police station on September 8, 1993.

The police traced the family three days later. Investigation revealed that the nine-year-old son of Tularam, a retired electricity department employee, was kidnapped by an auto gang when he was returning home from school with one of his sisters.

Bheem said that after kidnapping him, he was sent to Rajasthan, where he stayed for so many years. On reaching Rajasthan, Bhim was beaten and forced to work. He was given only one roti in the evening and was tied up at night to prevent him from escaping. Eventually, Raju managed to escape from his kidnappers and boarded a truck bound for Delhi.
