A 26-year-old woman was killed after being hit by a speeding Aston Martin in Hyderabad. The driver has been identified as Lingamaneni Sanjush, the 21-year-old son of Rajya Sabha MP Lingamaneni Ramesh. Police have charged him with negligent driving, although he has not yet been arrested. The deceased, Bharati Mukhi, worked at a lifestyle clothing store in Inorbit Mall. On August 16, she was crossing the road near her workplace when she was allegedly hit by a speeding Aston Martin. The accident occurred in front of the mall in the Madhapur area. The force of the impact was such that Bharati suffered serious head injuries and profuse bleeding. She was immediately rushed to Apollo Hospital in Jubilee Hills in the same car, but doctors declared her dead. The accident occurred while returning from lunch. According to police, before the accident, Bharti had gone to the nearby ITC Kohinoor area for lunch with her 26-year-old colleague Pooja Ashok Alon at around 3 p.m. The two were returning to their workplace after eating. Bharti was hit by a car while crossing the road in front of the mall. After the accident, her colleague Pooja informed store manager Ashwin Kumar about the incident, which then informed the police. Police issued a notice to the accused. Cyberabad police have identified Sanjush as the driver. His father, Lingamaneni Ramesh, is a businessman and a Rajya Sabha MP associated with Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan's Jana Sena Party. Madhapur Assistant Police Commissioner C.H. Sridhar said that a notice has been issued to the accused. He said that the case falls under the category of bailable offence and there is a provision of maximum punishment of less than seven years, hence no arrest has been made at present. Case registered under Section 106(1) of BNS The police have registered an FIR in this case under Section 106(1) of the Indian Penal Code i.e. BNS. This section deals with causing death by negligence or by an act without intent to kill. The FIR alleges rash and negligent driving of the car.
