Shivhar, no child in government schools of Shivhar has to study on the ground due to lack of benches and desks. For this purpose, 14,439 benches and desks were supplied to various government schools of Shivhar district by spending 7,082,8214.

The supply was done in two ways, through school and through contractor/agency.

4800 bench desks were supplied to 96 middle schools through school by spending 2 crore 40 lakh rupees. At the same time, 2050 bench desks were supplied to 44 high and higher secondary schools by spending 1 crore 25 lakh rupees.

During this time, the school where the supply was made was given 250000 or 225000 rupees for this work.

Whereas 7589 bench desks were supplied to 95 primary, middle, secondary and higher secondary schools through 30 contracts and agencies at a cost of Rs. 36578214.
A maximum of Rs. 5000 has been fixed for each set of bench desk. Colour, paint, transportation expenses and GST are included in this amount. Hence, it will not be paid separately.
Whereas the department has said that bench-desks will be prepared and supplied from mango wood planks in a sheesham frame, so that they remain durable and strong.
However, questions are being raised on the quality of the rural bench desks.
