Manipur, After the violence that broke out in Manipur, Chief Minister Biren Singh appealed to the people to maintain peace. On Monday, the Chief Minister appealed to the people to maintain peace in the state and said that about 60 innocent people have been killed in this caste violence. On the other hand, after the violence that broke out in Manipur after May 3, the situation has now been said to be normal. About 20,000 people have been shifted to safer places here, while the work of sending 10,000 people to shelter camps is going on.

The Chief Minister said, 'About 60 innocent people have lost their lives in the unfortunate incident of May 3. 231 people were injured and around 1700 houses were burnt. I appeal to the people to bring peace in the state. Taking the stranded people to their respective places has started.

The chief minister's appeal came hours after the Supreme Court expressed concern over the huge loss of life and property in the state and asked the Center and the Manipur government to step up relief and rehabilitation efforts for those affected by the violence.

20,000 people were evacuated

Chief Minister N Biren Singh said, proper and all possible care and assistance is being provided to all the persons stranded at various places in Manipur by shifting them to safer places and shelter camps.
So far 20,000 stranded people have been evacuated. About 10,000 people are still stranded. Union Home Minister Amit Shah is monitoring the situation from the day of the incident till today. They have sent several companies of central forces.

Center said that the situation is getting normal in Manipur

Listing the steps taken to deal with the situation, the Center told a bench headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud that no untoward incident was reported in Manipur in the last two days. The situation there is gradually becoming normal.
