Officials said that due to the landslide in the afternoon, Highway-5 (Hindustan-Tibet Marg) connecting Chandigarh and Shimla near Kumarhatti in Solan district was closed. Fortunately, at the time when the landslide occurred, no person or vehicle was passing through the route, so no incident occurred. Light snowfall occurred in the high altitude areas of Kullu and Lahaul-Spiti, which is a sign of the arrival of winter.
