Gopalganj. Shocking pictures were seen in Gopalganj district of Bihar. In fact, when the police stopped a truck going from Kolkata to Haryana in Gopalganj, Bihar and started searching, they were surprised. Actually, banned fish were kept secretly inside the truck. A big supply was to be made from this truck, but the police foiled the intentions of the smugglers on the way.
In fact, in the Sidhwalia police station area of Gopalganj district, the police took a big action and seized 27 quintals of banned Mangur fish. These fish were being smuggled from Kolkata to Haryana. The police stopped the truck during vehicle checking near Barhima toll plaza. During the search of the truck, banned Mangur fish were found, which were seized.
A pit was dug to destroy it
In this case, two smugglers of Banka district, Dipankar Das and Reyaz Ansari, have been arrested. The police killed these fish by digging a pit to destroy them in the presence of officials of the fisheries department. It is worth noting that the government has banned the Mangur fish because eating it poses a risk of cancer and other serious diseases. Despite this, smugglers are continuously supplying these fish illegally.
Police has exposed this earlier too
Even before this, the police has exposed the smuggling of Mangur fish many times. Despite this, the activities of the smugglers are not stopping. This action of Gopalganj police has once again indicated a crackdown on this illegal trade. SP Awadhesh Dixit said that the police is continuously running campaigns and taking action to break the syndicate of smugglers involved in all illegal trades including fish.
