18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas to be held in Odisha
People from more than 50 countries registered
The 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) conference is being organized in Bhubaneswar from January 8 to 10 in partnership with the Government of Odisha. It is a flagship event of the Government of India, which provides a platform to connect Indian diaspora and enable them to interact with each other. Its theme is the contribution of NRIs in developed India. Let us tell you that a large number of Indian diaspora members from more than 50 different countries have registered to attend this program.
The Ministry of External Affairs issued a statement saying that the program will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During this, President of Trinidad and Tobago HE. Christine Carla Kangalu will join as the chief guest through video conferencing. On the special occasion of the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, PM Modi will flag off a special train Pravasi Bharatiya Express for Indian migrants. This train will depart from Nizamuddin Railway Station in Delhi. It will cover several destinations over a period of three weeks.
Odisha Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja said, "For the first time, Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is being organised in Odisha. Several Union ministers, including PM Modi, will attend the event. Cultural programmes will also be organised. This is a great opportunity for Odisha to showcase its culture and traditions."
