15 lakhs looted from a grain merchant's shop
The incident was captured on CCTV, police started investigation
Muzaffarpur, once again criminals in Muzaffarpur district openly challenged the police and looted 15 lakh rupees from a grain merchant's shop at gunpoint in broad daylight. The entire incident was captured on the CCTV camera installed in the shop. The incident took place at Jai Mata Di Grain Store located at Purani Chowk in Kanti police station area.
It is said that three criminals riding a white Apache bike entered the shop. All three had weapons. They took the grain merchant Pappu Gupta and his two staff hostage at gunpoint in the shop at that time. The criminals looted about 15 to 20 lakh rupees kept in the cash box. At the same time, they also snatched 35 thousand rupees from Manoj Kumar, a customer present on the spot, and beat him up.
After the incident, all three criminals fled towards Meenapur. A crowd of local people gathered at the spot and immediately informed the police about it. As soon as the information was received, DSP Western Suchitra Kumari and Kanti Thanedaar Ramnath Prasad reached the spot with police force and started investigating the case.
The police is investigating the CCTV footage of the shop and the surrounding area. All three criminals have been captured in the CCTV. According to the footage, the first criminal was wearing a red shirt and gamchha covering his face, the second was wearing a white shirt and cap, while the third criminal was also in a white shirt and he too had covered his face with a gamchha. They are clearly seen stuffing money in the bag and assaulting the customer. Businessman Pappu Gupta said that his shop has been robbed before as well. He has demanded security from the police administration.
DSP Suchitra Kumari said that the criminals will be arrested soon. "Three criminals came on a bike and fled towards Meenapur after carrying out the robbery at gunpoint. Investigation is going on based on CCTV footage. The accused will be arrested soon. At present, the police have registered a case against unknown criminals and raids are going on.
