New Delhi, The atrocities on Hindus and their religious places in Bangladesh are not taking the name of stopping. Unidentified miscreants vandalized 14 Hindu temples in northwestern Bangladesh in a series of attacks on Saturday night. Vidyanath Burman, a leader of a Hindu community in Thakurgaon's Baliyadangi upazila, said unidentified people carried out the night attacks and vandalized idols of 14 temples, police said on Sunday. Hindus and their religious places have been continuously targeted in Bangladesh for several months.

Burman, general secretary of the Upazila Worship Ceremony Council, said some of the idols were destroyed in the temple itself, while some were found in a pond near the temple sites. Government not serious on targeted attack

Thakurgaon police chief Jahangir Hussain told reporters, "It clearly appears to be a case of a planned attack to disturb the peaceful situation in the country." He said that the police have immediately started the investigation to trace the culprits. Thakurgaon deputy commissioner or administrative head Mahbubur Rahman said, “The case appears to be a conspiracy against peace and communal harmony and…it is a serious crime. Strict action will be taken against the culprits.
