Damoh, 10 years of Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao scheme have been successfully completed and programs will be organized continuously till 8 March. On this occasion, on the occasion of Girl Child Day, district level "Betiyan Chhuengi Aasman" program was organized under the chief hospitality of former Finance Minister and MLA Jayant Kumar Malaiya and former National Women Commission member Dr. Sudha Malaiya. On this occasion, with the help of Women and Child Development Department, accounts were opened for the purpose of providing future benefits to the girls of the district under the ambitious scheme of the Central Government, Sukanya Samridhi Yojana, and the guests honored the concerned girls by distributing passbooks to them.
Under the direction of Collector Sudhir Kochar and under the guidance of District Program Officer Women and Child Development Department Jaywant Singh Verma, in the old Collectorate premises, the Women and Child Development Department, with the help of Health Department, National Adolescent Health Program, National Child Protection Program and Sedmap Institute, conducted health check-up of more than 50 school dropout girls of Kaidon Ki Talaiya and they were provided complete information on the subject of menstruation and hygiene management by the Health Department. Iron folic acid tablets were distributed as well as sanitary pads were distributed to all the participants present on behalf of Women and Child Development.
On this occasion, Bal Sabhas were organized today in the Gram Panchayats selected as pilots under the Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao Yojana in Batiagarh and Tendukheda development blocks of the district with the help of Panchayat and Rural Development Department and Education Department. Boys and girls told their problems and needs which will be kept in the preparation of GPDP and the construction of child friendly Panchayat. Its purpose is to provide a platform to these children for their child rights which include the right to participation, where they can put forward their views to the government and administration. In these Bal Sabhas, along with the children, the village secretary, sarpanch, employment assistant, Anganwadi workers, teachers and other department employees were present and Mamta Sanstha's full support was received. On this occasion, activities like Beti Bachao Beti Padhao sticker pasting, oath taking etc. were also organized in various government offices.
