In fact, the 270-year-old tradition of Kansa slaughter will be carried out on November 3 in Shajapur on the tenth day of Kartik month after Diwali. For this, Kansa's effigy has been enshrined on the throne-like platform at Kansa Chauraha located in Somwariya Bazar. Tulsiram Bhavsar, convener of Kans Vadotsav Committee, said that after two years of Corona period, this year Kans Vadotsav will be celebrated widely. On November 3, on Dashami Tithi, at 8.30 pm, the running ceremony will start from Baalveer Hanuman Mandir. In this, artists in the form of gods and demons will ride on a chariot. The moving ceremony will reach Azad Chowk at 10 pm via Somwariya, Magaria, Kachhiwada, Bus Stand, New Road. Here there will be a war of words between the gods and the demons. During this, the artists will shoot words at each other regarding current events as well as other issues. After the war of words, the ceremony will reach Kans Chauraha in Somwariya at around 11.30 pm. There will be a war of words here once again. After this, the artist in the form of Krishna will ascend the throne and kill Kansa and bring down the effigy. After this, Gawli Samajjan will drag the effigy to Gawli Mohalla. Convenor Bhavsar said that before killing Kansa, respect will be given to the senior people of Gawli society.
After Mathura, the event is held only in Shajapur.

Convenor Shri Bhavsar said that this unique event of Kansa slaughter is held only in Shajapur after Mathura, the birthplace of Shri Krishna. Although it has been started in some cities, but there this program takes place like Ravana Dahan. It was started 269 years ago in Shajapur and this is the 270th year of the said event. Shri Bhavsar told that the head of the Govardhannath temple, Late Shri. Motiram Mehta had witnessed Kansa Vadotsav in Mathura about 269 years ago. After this, he also started it in Shajapur. For the first 100 years, this event continued inside the temple, but after its fame, a large number of people started coming here. In such a situation, a unique event of Kansa slaughter started outside the temple at the crossroads in Somwariya market. Due to the killing of Kansa, the name of this place came to be Kansa Chauraha.
